I'm planning on writing a campaign where the party has to visit various nations to purify tainted deities who are being influenced to undo the seal of various dark gods and who's most zealous followers are also under the influence of because they're deities magic which they hold is being corrupted which in turn infects them (its prettty genshin-esque but also has tensura slime and nostalgia ds vibes with them traveling around via airship mainly) how do I make this very lore and worldbuilding heavy and also prevent the diety (and the followers by extension) still having a chance to be saved if the party fails to purify them from the taint (thinking about giving one of the players a blessing or an artifact that allows them to purify weakened enemies) and how should the deities under the influence? would the trait they represent be twisted? would they get a tick they didn't normally have? would their personality change ever so slightly?
