I find the magic items table in the DMG useful when deciding what loot to reward the players with. What I'm struggling with is deciding what items to use when they're story relevant.
For example, I'm currently planning on having my players enter a town that has been cursed by a Bheur Hag. Her reasoning fo cursing the town would be that someone in the town stole something or cheated her from an item but I have no idea how to decide what that item would be.
It would need to be something the NPC thought would be worth stealing to survive but I'm.drawing a blank on what it could be or what resources to use to find something. Any help would be great!
