Galileo fader in the new mixars duo mk2
Post Body

So I just purchased a mixars duo mk2. Awesome mixer for the price and the galileo fader is smooth as hell...

BUT

I started DJing in the early 2000s. My go to mixer was the good ol' vestas pmc05. Now, anyone who has any long background in scratching on vestax knows, that fader click was the stuff of night mares.

It has returned in this POS fader!!!!

The click on side bumper hits is loud as hell, it can even drown out a decent crab scratch with the greatest of ease.

I sent an email to mixars and pro x fade, because I thought it was surely a bad fader. I mean, they couldn't make such a good fader with this kind of crap sound, right?!?!

Response from pro x fade:

"I believe the issue is that the fader in your Duo is hitting the metal fader plate. The version of fader you have in the Duo has a specially made fader plate without the fader lag control as found on the retail version. There's not much you can do with the sides but if you wrap the fader stem itself in a silicon wrap or even some tape, this may help, although be sure not to wrap the top half where the knob sits or lower down where the fader needs to glide across the faceplate slit and only the side where it hits the end of the fader plate."

So for $600 I've been returned to manufacturing a hillbilly fix for a company's slack and laziness in an overall flagship quality fader. Thankfully, I have an innofader in my old mixer that I can hook up in the worst case scenario.
