Bookcase and bench under stairs - help starting

Hi,
I want to build something like this under the stairs. I remember seeing some guides and things online about it, but now can't seem to find anything that fits what I'm looking for.
I am semi ok at DIY so want to do this myself, but a guide on how to get started or something would be great. I don't know, for example, how I secure the bookcase to the sides / back wall securely. I want that 'built in' feel.
Any tips on types of wood/mdf to use, thickness etc would be helpful also.
