Hi all, I plan to paint our new house (5 years old house which was already painted). There are some dark coloured walls that we would like to convert into a whitish colour. I was planning to apply a primer to these first. Today, I visited a Johnstone's decorator center and they advised me to use Johnstone's Contract Matt instead of primer. What is your opinion on this? Which one would be a better undercoat? Also, if I decide to sand the walls before painting, should I do it before applying the undercoat, or after the undercoat?
