Using a resin wheel on a fanatec podium dd1

Post Body

Hello I'm new to the subreddit so forgive me if this question has been asked before.

I'm gearing up to go heavy into simracing and I have been looking into some of the higher end equipment and the prices of the wheels are just out of sight (I was looking at Gomez Sim Industries Formula Pro Elite for context). I have some technical and mechanical knowledge as well as a 3D printer so I looked up on thingiverse "sim racing wheel" and I found the "Cosworth CCW MK2 Sim Racing Rim - Dallara" (link for those interested https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4728265 ). The first thing I was curious about was if I should after I 3D print the wheel could I make a mold of the print cast it in a resin so I can create a truly custom variation of the wheel? The second question that crossed my mind was if the hardware I was looking to purchase would require a inlay of carbon fiber in the resin mold? I was looking at purchasing a fanatec podium dd1 as well as the podium paddle kit ( I am open to other options of similar or better quality) my concern is that the resin would distort due to the torque of the wheel base. I appreciate the help on this matter I will post updates as the time grows closer to me actually implementing the simulator.
