Formulating an anti-static hand lotion

Post Body

A lot of modern electronics are sensitive to static and there are a few 'anti-static' or 'static-dissipative' lotions which are marketed for environments where this could be an issue.

I am interested in creating my own formula for such a product since I regularly work with electronics and I would like to get some opinions on it. If you could be so kind as to share your thoughts on any or all of the following items I would appreciate it:

  1. What would be a property of a lotion that makes it 'anti-static' as opposed to not?

  2. These lotions are often marketed as free from glycerin, lanolin, and silicones. What would be the reason for this?

  3. One of the functions of the lotion is that it is useful for 'pre-gloving'. What properties particularly would be beneficial for a person who has their hands inside of a glove (usually nitrile) for long periods of time?

  4. Feedback on the proceeding formulations
