Raised Paver Patio

Post Body
Help please - I want to build a raised paver patio. Im a newbie with 0 experience! Ive seen quite a few videos of how to do a standard paver patio but the details about a raised one is hard to come by. If anyone would help worth a few questions it would be much appreciated. Note the soil is heavy clay if that matters?
- Which is the best PLAN A or PLAN B (see image) PLAN B - I thought I would build a grid with concrete blocks or cast in place concrete. Then just lay the pavers on top. In my head this would give the benefit of being able to move the pavers around, it would allow for rainwater to go through and it would be easier in a way - no filling and tamping with gravel. Or is this a stupid idea? Is Plan A or B the best?
- Can I just lay the concrete blocks on tamped gravel (4 inches or so)? Will it move? Do I need a foundation/footing?
- If you lay landscape fabric. (waterproof sheet) the water will end at the lowest point. Does this matter? Do you have to channel the water away from the lowest point?
- PLAN A - If I put the sand bedding layer level with the retaining wall. Will the paver that lies on both the retaining wall and on the sand be level? Wont the sand compress at some point? Or is it so little its not a problem?
Thanks
