What is the proper way to trim/fill this space around my newly installed door?

I recently had a new exterior door installed. I am hoping to finish the trim today/tomorrow – but I'm not sure the right way to go about doing this door.

The door is installed on the exterior brick, but the jamb is shallower than the depth of the wall. The door is installed flush with the exterior of the house.
