Hi everyone, not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this. If not, please point me a more appropriate subreddit.

I recently built an automated bartender (similar to this one, with significant changes). I want to make sure it’s safe to use.

I’m using food-grade silicone tubing. I first clean each of the tubes by washing each side with soap and hot water, then running soap and hot water through the tubes, then running just hot water through the tubes. Do you think this is sufficient to clean the tubes?

I want to paint the sides and the part that holds a cup, which are fiberboard. I’m planning on spray painting it. Do you think this would be safe? I think it would be because the liquid should not touch the boards at any point — it goes through the tubing into a cup. Are there any particular paints or finishes I should use?

I don’t have much experience with things like this, and figured this is a good place to ask. Thanks!
