Hello, I have installed two Leviton 3-way switches, which are lighted as well, for ease for turning on and off our hallway light. These are the wide 'flat' switches that my wife loves because of her disability, she can turn on and off the lights with her elbow rather than her hands. The switches control a ceiling light which consists of two bulbs, and we are currently using CFC bulbs, the fluorescent 'spiral' bulbs. The problem I am having is that even though the wiring is correct, (confirmed by another person who has wired up this type of setup), after turning off the hall light switch, one fluorescent bulb will 'flash' dimly in a pattern of roughly once every second, like the fluorescent bulb is trying to light. This will occur for approximately 2 minutes, then it stops. If the hall light is only turned on for less than a minute, the bulb does not flash.
For the bulb to flash, I am assuming that it is getting power somehow but obviously not enough for the compact fluorescent to turn on, but why only the one bulb? Is one of the switches faulty?
Thanks!
