In March I started my floor. Initially we were going to put some vinyl flooring down because we didn’t know what was under the ugly carpet. After cutting the rug we saw it was the original wood from 1950. I hired a family friend that said he could do it in a weekend…. Well 2 months of being ghosted after pulling the carpet I decided to do it on my own. 80 hours of sanding (this was the first time I’ve ever sanded.) and 15 hours of putting in wood filler. After all that I got to sanding one more time. I was ready for staining and finish. This was no way a weekend possible job. But I feel the end result was good for never doing something like this before. What are your thoughts fellow diy humans?
