Adding texture to a bathtub where stickers and suction cups won't work

We have a bathtub that already has texture at the bottom, but not good texture because it still turns slippery as soon as it gets wet. We're planning on replacing the whole tub when we save up the money.
In the meantime, we've tried both stickers and bath mats. Because of the existing texture though the suction cups on the bathmats don't suction cup and the stickers peel up immediately. Any ideas?
