Crown moulding fixes

I just got crown moulding put at my place. The picture is of the area where they had connected two separate peices of crown moulding together since the length of the room was longer than the length of a single piece of crown molding. However the line where the two moldings are joined is very visible....I asked the contractor to remedy it but he says that nothing can be done about it.... That line is very visible no matter where you're standing in the room and makes the crown molding look like it is cracking.

Any advice on how I could make that line disappear or less visible?
