VCR head drum repair/cleaning

Post Body

Hey all, I'm a recent VHS convert and brand-spanking-new to the world of VCR maintenance and repair. The VCR I primarily use (Panasonic PV-7451) plays great, but the video head drum makes a god-awful racket when playing a tape - so much so that it becomes unwatchable. I want to disassemble/take a look at the drum and likely oil it up a bit, but I realize this is a tall order for a beginner.

Does anyone know of good resources/have some advice for tackling this? Any specialty tools I should pick up, videos/guides that make good references, etc?
