How can I communicate with my possible system?

Post Body

My psychiatrist thinks that there is a possibility that I have DID. I have childhood trauma and memory loss, I have also experienced psychosis. That's why my first diagnosis was schizophrenia then doctors thought I had schizoaffective disorder because of my mood swings.

I have a voice that comforts me, I have had it for the majority of my life. I don't remember much from my childhood though. Anyway, I have tried to research more about DID, but I couldn't find information on how to communicate with possible alters/phragments. Everyone seems to know so much about their systems, I don't. For example - I regress when I watch certain cartoons, I can feel it coming, but I have very little control of it apart from feeling very happy. I don't remember much from that experience. I can talk (sort of) to my comforting voice, but I can't imagine how they can look or how is it possible that they exist.

My question is - how can I get to know phragments/alters/people I share my headspace with. I have seen some videos on YouTube, but those vids show people with DID who have very dramatic switches, they draw their alters, they all seem so connected, etc. It's all surreal to me still. How can I get to know other alters, am I one as well? I really don't know what to do. I wish I could get to know my possible alters and help them live their best life. Any advice on how to do that? I'm sorry for using I/myself instead of we, I'm still new to this.
