Mods won't work, help!

I was playing through some mods I've already played when I started up a mod and when I clicked new game, it became the regular game. When I clicked on saves, a save from the regular game and a different mod popped up. This problem only happens when I try to play the purist mod. The custom music and main menu are still there, but it doesnt load the mod, I've tried reinstalling a fresh DDLC and a fresh copy of purist and it still doesn't work. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but help if you can please
