So I'm currently playing through Doki Doki: Our Final Heartbeat, which from what I've heard, is a very good mod. Unfortunately, it's one of those mods suffering from what I'm calling "Act 1 Backbone Syndrome" where you have to play through the entirety of act one before getting to the really good stuff. This works when you play the original game, but it's frustrating when playing mods like The Purist Mod or The Normal V/N where you just have to go through the whole week to get to the good stuff.
Doki Doki: Blue Skies came up with a pretty neat solution to this, from what I remember. Instead of it replicating Act 1 word for word, they sort of reworked it to keep the basic premise but add in new stuff, and it still worked really well. Thus, when you got to the end of the week and the all-new content began appearing, you are more appreciative of it instead of just seeing it as a chore to get through the same week over and over again.
Maybe that's just my thoughts though, let me know what y'all think of "Act 1 Backbone Syndrome"
