For me, I'd love to see Black Adam book where he is forced to journey across a strange, supernatural landscape while protecting a weak Billy Batson who has lost his magic, allowing the two to understand one another and we as an audience get to watch Adam wreck the shit of different gods/demons/etc.
Maybe play into the idea of Adam being a traitor/failure of Shazam, and as such he needs to face other mythical traitors (Judas with an army of demons inside him like Legion, Medea the scorned bride of Jason from Greek Myth, Starkad of Norse Myth, etc.) Through it all he realizes his faults, battles Shazam for nearly killing his new young champion over this worthless test, and rules Khandaq with a less ruthless fist, making peace with Billy and allowing him to be the hero the world truly deserves.
