I knew little to none about this story going in, only knowing that it was written by a fan-favorite Kurt Busiek and drawn by Stuart Immonen who has done some awesome stuff with the Bendis's New Avengers run back in the 2000's and I bought the book from Torpedo's Comics in Wondercon on the Saturday of the weekend.
It was such an interesting and fresh concept of Superman that I haven't encountered before. The main character of the story exists in our world where there are Superman comics and no superheroes exist, and it was interesting seeing that Clark Kent having to deal with the powers of Superman in a rooted reality of our world.
The art in this book was absolutely beautiful and astounding. There were so many stunning double page splash pages of Superman flying out in the open space, cities, space, and him just looking at the blue planet from outside that were so fucking majestic and tear-jerking. I also loved the facial features of Clark and Lois when they were talking to each other and the juxtaposition of the panels in the part where Lois is giving birth to her twins as Clark is fighting a political battle where he doesn't want to be a part of but still wanting to save lives, and the pain for both of those characters in that moment.
I also enjoyed the fact that this Superman aged like us normal human beings and you got to see his whole lifespan. It was different, but it made the story of Superman feel more relatable and it was awesome. What was even more awesome was that you got see the LINEAGE of the Clark's family with Jane and Carol along with Jane's oldest son, Perry being all part of the Superman family in this universe.
Overall, it was a beautiful story and I'm giving this book a 9.5/10 because it made you feel so optimistic and fluffy inside with lots of joy and hope for the world.
