I'm a big Marvel guy, but I want to get into DC. I already like Batman, I love Green Lantern and the mythos of the different corps, and I've always been a fan of The Flash. But I just can't get into Superman. I went through a couple of the recommended reads listed in the sidebar, but I still just don't like the character. Red Son: Interesting concept, but I found Luthor to be a much more interesting character than Supes. All Star: Hated it. Got to about the third issue and gave up. Didn't like the art style, didn't like the writing, hated Superman. N52 Action Comics: I probably should give this one more of a chance, but the first couple of issues just turned me off, as I'm not interested in seeing the military test out the limits of an already well known character. So, r/DCcomics, change my mind? What are some of the best Superman runs that really define the character to you? Also, feel free to recommend literally any other series from any other character that you love. Just to give you some insight into my tastes, my favorite stories from Marvel are, in order:

Remender's Uncanny X-Force

Aaron's Thor: God of Thunder

Fraction's Hawkeye

Hickman's Fantastic 4, FF, Avengers, and New Avengers

Cable and Deadpool

Runaways

My absolute favorite DC story is War of Light, along with Blackest Night obviously.

EDIT: For those still interested, I finished All Star. I won't say I hated it, but I have nothing good to say about it. Parts of it almost seemed to be making fun of itself, maybe that's the point? Is it supposed to be a serious book? And good god what is the point of Jimmy? Why does he exist as he does? I almost quit again when they introduced Zibarro. In the end, he was a semi-interesting character, but that name.
