According to DC Entertainment’s senior vice president of marketing and global franchise management, DCYou means that “there’s a story for every kind of DC Comics fan,” but that means literally nothing unless you back it up with the titles and the creators to match. Slapping a girl on a comic book written and drawn by a bunch of dudes probably isn’t going to represent my experience any more than Ms. Marvel wouldn’t have been a hit had it been created by anyone other than G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona.

Now, one thing that isn’t so “new” and “different” is the fact that there are way more men on these books than women. And one woman, G. Willow Wilson, has two books (which is great, as I love her, but I also wish there were different women writing). But we do have the showrunning team from Agent Carter taking over Captain Marvel, and we’ve got books starring female protagonists like Scarlet Witch, Spider-Woman, and Silk.

Plus, there’s some great talent all over the place, including guys like Jason Aaron and Brian Michael Bendis who are really great at including nuanced women in the things they write. Here’s to a new day at Marvel! I’ll be adding LOTS of new titles to my pull list this fall!

.............. really starting to believe there's a bias towards DC, DC has more people of different backgrounds, gender, and ethnicity working for them isn't representative enough, yet somehow Marvel having like what? a quarter dozen is enough?

Not trying to start a company wars discussion just really starting to get pissed off by the general negativity towards DC by certain comics based "journalists"
