I was bored and wanted to do something different for challenge... I know there are plenty of F2P let's plays out there using the leads you get from Baba Shop, and I wanted to do something different because that's a lot of Baba points and it there are limited ways to farm those points.
I came up with the idea of beating end-game contents with leader skills that gives -%ATK on specific types. I figured these will work well against bosses where you are doing majority of the hard fights against one type. This doesn't work against Buuhan or Gotenks, but works really well against bosses like SS Rose. I tried to make this as F2P friendly as possible; most of these builds uses F2P units, units you can buy from gems and SR's that dokkans into SSR. I'd use SSRs here and there if I they have something in their kit that makes them interesting, but none of the SSR's I used are OP units. I am sure there are more impressive play-throughs out there but this is a proof-of-concept of how you can utilize -ATK leads on hard fights.
So here's all the fights I've done so far, with brief commentary on how the fight went.
This is a very straightforward fight. Piccolo is there to tank the 1st round and the rest is walk in the park.
EDIT:Posted the wrong pic, changed it to my 2nd run with all F2P cards
Same idea as Round 1, but with 3 enemies on the 1st round. It really came down to how fast I could kill off AGL SSB Vegeta.. it ended up taking Piccolo firing off his Dokkan attack(yes the 1st round took that long), but after that it was smooth sailing.
This was an easy fight. You can tank most of the attacks between the two LR's Bulma and Gotenks and the two other units buffs DEF to all allies.
I was so focued on Android 13's -40% ATK LS that I forgot he was not F2P :( This team actually didn't do so well, because 1)It was hard firing off SA with general Blue with such abysmal ki-support 2)Buucolo is great on paper due to him sharing link skills with Buuhan but not good enough to put him on rotation with Buuhan. I did this event again with Eis Shenron(who debuffs both PHY and TEQ), WT Buff Goku, and WT Turles in place of Android 13, General Blue, Buucolo and it went much better... but unfortunately I forgot to take a screenshot so I'll update once the event returns.
I knew this will be a tough fight. You have 5 enemies in the first round and 2nd round is TEQ with regeneration.. fortunately Max LV. Crit Vegito was able to overpower them fairly easily. I brought Super Vegeta for ki support and his abilit to weaken regeneration and while it was hepful, I don't think it was a game changer.
EDIT: I used WT Cooler here, but SSR Chiaotzu from Baba shop has the same leader skill and he should work also
I didn't think I'd be able to beat this event because there are too many hard fights against non-type advantaged bosses, but SSJ4 Goku came in clutch. He finished off the AGL phase with counter SA, OHKO the STR phase with Dokkan attack, and pretty muched OHKO the last round with double crit! I don't think this build is that feasible, and if anything this is a testament to just how OP SSJ4 lead is when he is far into the dupe path.
This is an old event and a tricky one, since Broly hits really hard after the 2nd phase and you need to debuff both his ATK&DEF with this build. It was nice to be able to use the two great Saiyaman in the fight, since I never get to use them in serious fights.
This was one of the toughest fights and the fight exceeding the 1 hour mark is a testament to just how brutal it was. Not only was the 2 phases brutal, Gogeta on the last phase was still hitting in mid-high 4 digits. That's still a lot of damage considering how often he hits. It became a battle of attrition between his Gogeta's damage output vs Buuhan's healing and in the end I scraped through.
This was a breather round before the final fight. I couldn't find Gotenks friend and I knew this was going to be easy so I chose LR Goku lead instead.
This was a much tougher fight than expected. SSJ3 Goku in the first round hits for ~30k per hit, and he would deplete most of my HP in 1 turn if I am not careful.. and like SSJ4 Gogeta he was still hitting pretty hard even with type disadvantage and leader skills kicking in. It really came down to clutch, I would have lost if SSJ4 Goku fired SA first on that last round, but I've managed to scraped through in the end.
So that's the end of my experiment for now. I don't think other bosses will work because of how often they change phases, and I skipped Beerus because that's even easier than SSBK. But anyways, I did this to mainly show how you can beat end-game content with no ki/stat leads, and I hope you enjoyed it!
