My partner hates my music because she’s never heard most of it before is the reason she cites most often besides a dislike for a genre in particular. But they claim they only enjoy listening to familiar music. I’m neurodivergent so am I the weird one for loving to discover new music I enjoy, or are they the odd one for not being able to enjoy unfamiliar music? I’ve noticed a lot of my friends listen to the same songs while I’m always playing something they haven’t heard before. In high school I had enough music that I could listen to each downloaded song for 7 years without hearing the same one twice, I’ve only massively expanded that library today almost 18 years later. I thought everyone enjoyed new music my whole life.
To;dr who’s weird me who enjoys new and familiar music or my partner who doesn’t enjoy new music at all.
