Hello all, Iām a 22m. I hate to be a downer, but Iāve grown disillusioned with Daca ever becoming a reality for me. My application is frozen as I applied last year only to have it frozen. Due to the current ruling surrounding daca and itās future Iāve grown a little apathetic. I believe the best choice weāve got for something more permanent is compromising, border security funding in exchange for daca or something of the like. Though it seems neither side is seriously willing to compromise because āhow will I get elected next term, if I canāt string these suckers along with false hopeā. Only a few well natured individuals seem to genuinely be working for a solution. Iāve seen what daca has done for people in my own community and I canāt help but want it as well.
Though if things keep seeming more hopeless I donāt intend to stick around waiting on false hope.I entered with a visa when I was like 5, just overstayed that welcome lol. Iāve looked into it a bit and can I turn myself into immigration saying āhey I want to go back of my own free will but Iād also like the ability to come back to the us as a tourist or with a work visaā Iām not sure if that might work but does anyone have experience with that? I really love the us but I canāt work in any industry Iād like to being like this. So like smash mouth said āthe years start coming and they donāt stop comingā am I better off waiting to see what happens then just dipping out through immigration?
