Does anyone else here think about simply cutting their losses and moving back to their home country sometimes? I wanted to get people's opinions on things.
I'm a 23M Filipino, DACA-less and in legal limbo (screwed over by initial applications & pending family/sibling petition visa), so unless I want to wait upwards of 10-20 years and watch my life go by, my realistic choices are to either get married to a USC or voluntarily depart and go back to the Philippines. However unlike most "UnDACAmented" people I'm very fortunate to still be doing well for myself-- I make almost six figures from combined contractor & freelance work, drive a nice car, can save up for "retirement" and buy the things I want etc... yet even though I know comparison is also the thief of joy it does suck seeing your US citizen friends around you travel freely to all of these countries meanwhile you have to make do with traveling to Vegas or the Grand Canyon.
Unless I manage to fall in love and in a genuine marriage with a USC or some miracle happens and initial DACA apps are reinstated, or say Biden wins and eventually new immigration pathways for people in my situation end up becoming available, I've honestly thought about just going back to the Philippines eventually because at least I won't feel like a third-class citizen over there. I would have enough assets/capital saved, as well as my education and work experience with me so I know I would easily be able to thrive and live comfortably over there, but I probably also wouldn't ever be able to fully get over leaving my "home" and friends behind...
Anyone else?
