Can baking soda cause BV?
Post Body

First I’d like to thank /u/licorishlover for the instructions. I live in an emerging country (Brazil) where public health is horrendous and gynecologists can only treat well known conditions such as BV and yeast infections, if you’re lucky. You come up with “vaginal micro biome issues” and they put you as a “crazy lady who’s making up diseases”. It happened to me. Doctors never even heard of “cytolytic vaginosis” and think I have “psychiatric issues” when I describe my problems after eating yogurt, kefir, probiotic food and supplements and that it all started happening after COVID. Also, in my country there are no tests to specify what the bacterial and fungal strains in your vagina are nor their quantity, no such thing as baking soda or boric acid suppositories in drugstores. Things here are rudimentar and I’m in the dark all by myself. I’m lucky I can read English, I wonder how many other people go through the same suffering as me and can’t find their answers in Portuguese.

Anyway… I started the suppositories today. I had a BV episode some weeks ago that resolved after metronidazole gel treatment. Can I get BV again because of the raise in pH? Thank you.
