So for the last few years my lungs have really been on the decline, and for that entire time I’ve had numerous sputum samples test positive for Mycrobacterium Abcessus.
Also, for the last 3 years I’ve been on and off Itraconizole as I’ve also had positive samples for Aspergillus and moved some fungal plugs. Despite my ige being below the threshold to be diagnosed as ABPA, the only time I’ve felt well is on Itraconizole.
My clinic are adamant that the Aspergillus isn’t an issue and I agree, but they’re extremely defensive when I bring up the Mycrobacterium. Currently my lungs are super tight, I’ve got a persistent dry cough with little to no sputum, I’m extremely weak and often dizzy and disorientated, I’m having joint issues with knees, elbows and neck. The only symptoms I’m not experiencing for this are night sweats and high temp.
My question; does anyone know if Itraconizole use would indirectly help with Mycrobacterium symptoms (despite not being the typical treatment plan)? And has anyone had a similar time with this infection and similar symptoms? If yes, did your clinic treat it and was it effective.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any advice you legends can offer.
