Does your sweat discolor clothing?
Post Body

Hey everyone so I am currently going down the wikipedia/WebMD rabbit hole and suspect I may have a mild form of CF. A lot of symptoms are lining up recently that make me suspect it. Obviously I need to talk to my doctor but writing it out here is helping me to get my thoughts together.

I did have one question before diving in though. Do the elevated chloride levels in your sweat ever cause you to stain clothing almost like they got bleach on them? I frequently find that sweat from my hands causes gray shorts to dis-color.

Ok so onto some of the history that is making me suspect it. I am a late 30s male. I have a history of asthma. In my teens I had a sever lung infection/pneumonia. It was an aspergillus lung infection that resulted in a partial lung removal. I also seem to have a yearly upper respiratory infection and sinus infection.

I am currently dealing with sinus issues for the past 6 months (stuffy/runny nose with very thick discolored mucus). Two rounds of different antibiotics has so far been unable to clear it.

I recently also went to try and get a vasectomy and the doctor has problems finding the vas differense so we didn't proceed and am considering a more invasive surgery to complete/evaluate if I have a absent vas differens.

The two most recent symptoms/discoveries including my history of asthma and lung problems are what is making me consider the possibility of CF.

As I have been reading about the diagnosis method of a sweat test that did bring back a memory during the lung infection days of doing a sweat test that I assume came back negative since that would have been a big deal I would remember and begun treatment for. Reading about mild cases of CF it seems like a negative sweat test is possible.

I realize I might be getting close to rule 1 with this post but not asking for a diagnosis.
