As the summer ends I'm looking to get some colder weather kit. Right now all I have are short sleeve jerseys and bib shorts. My thinking was to get a couple of items such as warmers, a base layer, and a gilet right now. Then around black friday time I'll see if there are good sales for deeper winter items such as full length bibs, jackets, etc. I'm looking at a couple different gilets for my early morning starts, which are in like 10-12 degrees C right now (although they will get a little colder). The Rapha Pro team lightweight gilet which is on sale right now seems like a good option, the only thing is that quite a few people mention that there is flapping around the shoulders. I'm also looking at the Maap draft team vest. Does anyone have any insight as to if the shoulder flap is still an issue with the Rapha gilet, or how the maap vest is? Perhaps any other recommendations? Also do you think I will be too cold in 10ish degrees with just a base layer, warmers, summer jersey, and one of these gilets? Thanks so much for any answers. Cheers!
