Pretty much what it sounds like. I don't know what the hell that were doing with it. Seems like someone has had access to my old Instagram account for years in Brazil. They didn't post anything or change my profile to crypto or make me follow anyone so I really don't know what their goal was. This is an Instagram from when I was literally 17, so, like, from 7 years ago. I only realized because I got an email that someone was trying to change my password, then I looked back and saw a bunch of times it was accessed without my permission.
So, I downloaded the Instagram app to keep it quarantined there just in case, changed the password using gibberish numbers and letters, and then deleted my account. Am I safe? Can whoever got into my Instagram account access me in any way? Should I be worried about anything (besides changing the passwords shared with that account - stupid 17 year olds like having everything share the same password)? Could I get malware or spyware from just accessing my account on the Instagram app? Apologies for my ignorance, and thank you!
