Just got rejected in a CS interview
Post Body

Yeah, it felt like a kick in the guts tbh. Unfortunately, even if you're working in SaaS, it's insanely hard to get a CS interview if you haven't worked in it before.

I've applied to like 200 companies and have hardly given 3 interviews out of which 2 didn't have enough budget (want to hire cheap in India) and the other one just rejected me. I'm working as a BDR for a year now with a B2B SaaS company and would love to get into CS roles. Internal movement is an option post 6 months and that's too much given the deteriorating culture in the BD function here.

I'm open to tips and tricks from you learned folks about how to land an interview and fast. I don't know if it's allowed here but a referral won't hurt :)

This isn't a rant, this is just a call for help from someone who just started out and honestly today's interview rejection has me down and out but I'm trying :)
