Strike as a remote CS agent?
Post Body

I'm a remote agent working for a European company.

My colleagues are spread all over the world, as you can probably guess.

We have a freelancer contract.

We're thinking of asking for a raise and a few other bonuses that we think we deserve. Also probably better treatment and communication. And faster reaction. The constant illnesses and holidays of Management often means we're the ones who suffer. The big boys need to know this.

The question is: Since we're all freelancers, obviously there's no one protecting us. How can we do this properly without putting our jobs in danger? We think that in the current situation, they're overworked as is, so if we were all to stop responding to customers, the whole operations will be panicking. There are theoretically only 3 people (our supervisors who are quite new as well) left to tend to customers 24/7. Instead of 10 of us. It will be hell for them. There are 2 new CS employees scheduled to start training, but they literally know nothing about the job as of now.

Our plan is to send our demands, give them 5 days to react. If after 5 days we still don't receive a satisfactory solution, we go on a 1 day strike. Still no satisfactory compromise, another day. But we can only do it for a maximum of 3 days, as to not give them time to adjust to our absence and find a way to replace us.

But I'm not sure..... Companies will go to unbelievable lengths and make outrageous decisions to save 1-2 Euros per hour per employee.

What if this bites us in the ass and they decide to just fire all of us and doing mass recruitment, just send mass mail to every customer "sorry but we'll need a bit longer to answer your question" and just take shitty CS workers who are willing to work for a low starting salary, compared to paying us more seasoned agents 2 Euros more, and give us paid leave?

Any brilliant ideas?

Also if anyone's company is hiring remote workers of all time zones, please DM me lol I might need a new job in the next few days. Lol oh well

I'm a pretty decent CS agent and love working in a team. Not kidding. I built my team where there was none and everyone was not even talking to each other.
