Hi all,

Single father here. If you want to see the background of how I got in this miss, please see my last 2 posts I've made to r/BipolarSOs. Long story short, we weren't married, the house is in my name and finances have been all but separate our entire relationship, we have a kid together that just turned 3 this month. She had a horrid BiPolar episode from January to May and only stabilized at the end of May.

We have not really been communicating aside from email. I tried to set up a sit down meeting on Memorial Day with her parents and mine present, and her dad basically called me and said "she's doing better now, we're not going to focus on the past and we're not talking about this. And she needs to see her kid more." Everything else has been through email between her and I. She has made minimal attempts to "talk" about what's going on, and I've been resistant because of this conversation with her father.

Regardless of the ugliness, my mother has been driving our kid to their house to make sure she sees the kid, her parents have been picking the kid up/dropping off, and she even started within the last month of stabilizing. The kid even started spending the night at her parents house, starting on the kids birthday, and has even increased to 2 nights a week over the weekend. It seemed like things were going in a civil and good direction.

This Saturday I just got a Court Order in the mail to meet with her and a Conciliator to discuss custody. I'm beside myself but not surprised. I'm also terrified as I've never been through this and worried of losing my perfect child. All the evidence would weigh in my favor I'd think, but I know mothers tend to have more pull in these situations. I'm just scared and don't know what to make of it. If anyone has any advice, thoughts or anything to help I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know how PA is with this sort of this or if anyone has had any experience in something similar.

Thanks for reading and best of luck to you all in your custody issues as well.
