Nearing the end of our COS game. Players are level 10 and this is one of the last side missions they wanted to do.

Backstory: the players had previously rescued the burgomasters wife from the werewolf’s and got Emil back in charge. After coming and going from the town a couple times they knew that there was an impending attack.

Also this is where I kept Esmeralda‘s wagon which exploded. The party also broke out of prison here are so they’re not exactly in good standing. But they did rescue the burgomasters wife from the werewolves

Also one of the players is a Reborn. She turned out to be the reanimated body of the burgomasters eldest daughter and was made into a clockwork type being. The burgomaster and his wife long ago grieved for her and they are very skeptical of her. This player also took on a dark power who asked her to protect the werewolf’s.

Open string at Krezk they see the town is under attack by the werewolf’s. Emil himself looks different like he took on a dark power himself.

The party learned that Krezk attacked the werewolf’s earlier that day and this is a counter attack. The party wanted to solve things peacefully but with arrows and spears being thrown that proved to be very difficult.

The monk player had an idea to run up to the Abbot to see if he can calm everyone down. The abbot agreed only after the Monk made a sizable donation. But still the abbot was going to take his time getting down to the village.

The barbarian in the group found a way in and did a great job holding the main gate shut, but eventually the gate was breached and the werewolfs started tearing apart the guards.

The burgomaster came down from his command post and started hacking. He saw the reborn player telling her that if she really was his daughter then he would help him. She was torn by this but she decided to attack her father using her dark gift (finger of death) to really impact his HP. A round later she managed to knock him out.

The abbot finally arrived and used a spell to calm everyone down. The fight was over and the players helped negotiate a peace treaty.

The Burgermaster wanted Emil as a hostage but the werewolfs wouldn’t agree. The abbot recognized how much the burgomaster lost and so he resurrected his son. The burgomasters heart was softened and agreed to the peace as long as the werewolfs held up their end. He then turned to the reborn player telling her that he did not understand what she was going through but as soon as she figures it out that there would be a place for her.

And now the players head off to the castle to deal with the vampire lord.
