My players ended up pulling Ismark as their destined ally in their card reading. They haven't relised this yet but are traveling with Ismark and Irenna to Valakie.

As written the stat block he uses will quickly be outshined especially with the party getting into combat, specifically they went into the windmill.

Does anyone have any idea or advice for what class/subclass he should get levels in? The books says he should get an equal share of xp and I want him to stay around the same power level as the party.

Also to a lesser extent some possible ideas for Irenna. I'm playing her as a bit more of a warrior type less damsel in distress more damsel but still know how to fight a bit.
