I've been looking over the module and some of the discussion: theres a lot of gold but not a lot of stores, wizards are very limited when it comes to copying spells.
So i was thinking of adding the following to the town of Barovia: A shop called the scavangers prize, a building set up by an adventurer with an entrepreneur mind, he pays the people of barovia to collect the gear left by other adventurers that die outside of Ravenloft (He pays a handful of gold pieces regardless of what is brought in). Assuming he has been running the shop for...3 years? I'd say he quite an inventory of starting gear and common/uncommon magic items. He sells his inventory for 3 times the normal prize, but pays a good ammount to spart players. This would allow me to add some ballsy npcs that follow the party around too.
Any thoughts or changes? Do you think this would affect the start too much?
Second in Ms (no i will not attempt to type his name) floating tower: A mages tower attached to a chunk of land that floats about 300 ft above the hills near Tser pool, it allowed M to travel through the planes and its been left anchored there since he was defeated. Strahd has been unnable to open the door due to his undead nature and he knows of no one else in the land with his arcane knowledge (that is currently alive) that can help him so he has left it alone. If the characters can climb up and solve the puzzle they could find M travel library and other goodies. Of course the characters couldn't use the planar powers of the tower but
How much ink and paper would M have? Any secondary or even terciary back up books? Should i bar access to certain knowledge in the library?
Should i even add these locations
