So my players just got the fortune from Madame Eve and have decided they’re going to take a detour to the castle. I was definitely not prepared to run anything in the castle this early (level 3) But I also want to give them the opportunity to explore. They haven’t even met Strahd himself yet. He did write them a letter introducing himself after Deathhouse but aside from that he’s only heard about him through NPC’s such as Irenna and Izmark.

Looking on suggestions on how to handle this encounter/session. I had the idea of doing the Dinner but it’s far too early in my opinion.
