Why hello dark powers. I seek help in the form of suggestions on what to do with 2 current situations.

I'm running mostly LBH version of the village of Barovia and this is in regards to the zombies in town/well and Doru quest lines.

The current situation The party has left the village with Ismark and Irena, and are headed to Valliki. So the issues im presenting have multiple days (3 at minimum due to travel) before they could come back. I want the Doru issue to definitely resolve in some way, and then ideas about how to progress the zombies in town issue. So any and all suggestion are helpful

1) Doru Pretty simply put, the players figured out about father Donavich killing people and bringing them back to feed his son Doru in the basement. They however decided to take his keys and lock father Donavich and Doru in the church. Then they just left and told no one about any of it.

2) the zombies in town/ well Party incorrectly thinks there's something wrong with the wine and not the drinking water and therefor have not checked the well in town nor done anything to follow up on it. They've told multiple people they think there's something wrong with the wine and encouraged them to not drink it. They go as far a to purify every bit they might drink even though their detect disease and poison as never shown issue. They've also mentioned wondering if it's withdrawn from the wine if shipments arnt being delivered. They've been told the inn has enough wine for maybe a week or 2 at the current rate but the inn keepers would save a supply for themselves before selling their last few barrels.

Conclusion/What I'm thinking of doing.

  A) Have Doru get out of the basement and church and go on a killing spree. Id imagine it would start with his father but maybe not and then progress into town a bit. If I do that do I kill any named NPCs? If so who? 

 B) have Doru go into the inn/tavern and ransack the place, perhaps destroying more of the wine reserve for the town which would force even more people to turn to the infected well water that is creating zombies. Maybe they trap Doru in the wine storage room so they are cut off from access but it isn't destroyed? 

 C) having more instances of roaming zombies in town and a few on the road back into town. Obviously I think this will have to be adjusted in scale depending on how long the party are gone. If it's just the 3 days not many if any,  if it's like 5-10 days a bit more,  anything over 14  and it's almost the whole town

Does anyone else have any fun ideas, thoughts or suggestions on what to do with these 2 situations?
