So longs story short I’m going to be running curse of Strahd as a sequel the 3.5s Castle Ravenloft campaign, one that my group went through and lost in the final battle against Strahd. I plan on having the only surviving member of the party being Strahd’s enemy, but I want them to have a deeper connection to the land. So I thought about having them become a patron to someone, maybe a semi forgotten deity of the land who offers protection from Strahd’s gaze in exchange for the character fights by against the lesser evils of the land. Not entirely sold on the concept, but would love to know if there are some characters(s) that fit that role.
