Help!!! What hair type do I have, and how to style it properly?!

Photo one is my hair right now still damp with products added. The top 1/4 of my hair will look like beachy waves when dry most days, and the bottom will range for ringlets to weird kinky squared off waves. Help! Nobody in my family has curly or wavy hair except my aunt and she exclusively blows out and straightens her hair.
