It's interesting how the messaging has been slowly experiencing a shift.
Personally I feel like it's essentially the (mainly) male equivalent to sex work. It's a last stop for people who'd otherwise wind up destitute and no matter how much or how little one might think of the broader morality on the personal level I get it.
