How to cut a model in half, but horizontally.
Post Body
Hi there!
So I'm currently printing some gridfinity elements to organize my drawers.
But I need to print some 6-7 grid square containers and that is too large for the bed of my Creality Ender 3 V2.
But those containers just slide into place in the gridfinity base so technically, there is no problem in printing them in halves and putting them back together. But how would I do that in the most effective way in Cura?
- I know about the whole "rotate it vertically and put the first half below the bed, then reverse it and print the other half". But it's containers, so I have to print then bottom down or that will require so much supports that I'll blow all my PLA in one go.
- I could open them in Fusion360 and make the cut. But I'm looking into a fast convenient way to do it quicker. It would be best to do it directly in Cura or a lightweight software if that exists?
Any help would be appreciated!
