Oil leak diagnosing / possible oil pan replacement
Post Body

Hey everyone,

First Cummins here!!! 5.9 3rd gen. 427000kms

Deleted, ECM tune by throttle position, 5”, airbags blah blah blah!

I have an oil leak, I understand that the high kilometres are going to leak a smidge, but. I do want to solve it as I’m trying to teach myself how to work on them.

The questions I have are listed below:

  1. Is an oil pan replacement a driveway job? I’ve seen a few videos and have the tools with some mechanical experience.

  2. What would you all do for diagnosing the problem as a whole? Strategies to target the oil leak?

  3. Specific tools possibly needed or possibly some written instructions in order to be the most efficient.

Thanks a bunch!
