How to know when to rebuild engine
Post Body

Hi I have a 2000 ram 2500 with 500 000kms

It sometimes burns quite a bit of oil ( I think when it first starts up)

Sometimes it doesn’t burn much ( such as a long day trip)

Its not leaking oil except for if a go full throttle offroad the crankcase vent drips a bit- when Im stopped or if I park the truck shortly after in my driveway

I was thinking it needs rebuilt, but I can’t help but think should I run it for another year or two?

I do plan to keep the truck for another 5-10 years. It doesn’t get driven in the winter anymore and its in pretty good shape overall

TLDR- how to tell if its time for a rebuild
