Has anyone here seen the BBC sitcom "Coupling"? (done by Steven Moffat, in the early 2000's) I was watching it again last night with a friend, and I was stunned when Benedict's mum showed up in the episode!!
Post Body

tone: friendly, excited

Side note: if you haven't seen Coupling, go watch it. It's on Netflix. It's what Friends should have been -- three women, three men, mostly sitting around in a pub (instead of a coffee shop), talking about relationships. But their conversations are much more sex-oriented, and funny as hell. (Anyone familiar with Steven Moffat -- Sherlock, Jekyll, Doctor Who -- knows he's amazing.) Go watch it.

Anyway, a friend of mine hadn't seen it, so we've been making our way through it. In season 2, Susan (main female) has her parents over for dinner with her boyfriend Steve (main male). Her mother looked really familiar, and then I realized it was (probably) Benedict's mum! I looked it up as soon as the episode was over, and I was right! (Wanda Ventham, playing Edna)

Clip from that episode, for the curious.

tone: happy musing

And side note... dear lord his mom was gorgeous back in the day!

Holy crap! I didn't realize it when I saw the episode, but as soon as I saw your post title I immediately thought of that episode and my mind was blown. Nice catch! Too bad about Jeff leaving, the show really suffered after that :(
