Just asked my OB/GYN friend - she says it's PCOS can cause that problem. However, it could also be made more challenging if she has comorbid conditions such as inter-uterine fibroids. She also said that there are articles online about things she can do to remedy the situation. There are treatments that might be effective for her as well.

The best thing she could do is to see her OBGYN and ask for help. Be honest about everything with her - not hide from embarrassment. The doctor is there to help her.
