“How to Handle Uneven Information Requests in Online Interactions?”

Post Body

How should I handle this situation? For example, a couple contacted me on Reddit and asked questions about me. When I asked them similar questions, they said they’d prefer not to answer at the moment. Then, they requested a photo of me showing my face, claiming it was for the wife to approve. I told them, “You are the couple who approached me—I didn’t approach you—so in this case, you should be the ones sharing your face first before I do. However, I’m still cooperating because, as a couple, you’re at a higher risk than me, but please be fair. Why ask for something you’re not willing to do yourself?” When I asked for their photo in return, they declined and said they’d share it later. What’s the best way to approach this?

Context I only have a conversation with the husband yet
