Is it bad this started from being cheated on?

I've been interested in getting into this lifestyle with my girlfriend but hesitant because for me this fantasy started after my ex cheated on me. I'm worried that because this started with a bad situation that its more likely for things to go wrong now. Is this an unhealthy origin for this fantasy? Any others have similar experiences or concerns?
