Is “No” the worst possible response from your partner when opening up?

Post Body

I’m curious if anyone has had a hostile reaction from their partner the amounts to something worse than “no”.

I hear lots of stories about people’s partners simply dismissing the idea, but has anyone ever experienced a reaction that was worse than simply declining to discuss or explore further?

From my experience as a male, I have always been told that the worst she can ever say is “no” in the context of a dating approach. However, as I got older and really botched dating approaches in the past, I soon realized that hearing “no” was the second best answer a girl could give, with humiliation, ridicule, and hostility being way worse than refusal.

Does anyone else feel this way, and has anyone ever experienced something worse than refusal from their partner when bringing this up?
